Arconic is seeking a Production Planner/Scheduler to join our Aluminum Extrusion (AEX) business unit in Lafayette, IN.

Profile:This position provides the best sequence of all production jobs so that the extrusion process flow remains optimized in support of achieving a delivery promise performance of 95% or better. Candidate is responsible for load coordination for all customer order needs. Both Truck and rail. Key challenges include managing priorities, balancing several on-going tasks simultaneously and interfacing between Extrusion Operations, Press Operations, Ingot, Transportation, and Sales.

Essential Functions: The Planner/Scheduler within AEX requires technical and interpersonal skills essential to team work. Major duties include but are not limited to:

• Sequence and track all Oracle Jobs for mill production.
• Evaluate each job to ensure they are properly sized and sequenced for downstream production flow loading; practices are correct and properly routed before releasing jobs to production.
• Work in concert with Operations to sequence jobs into the production line ups that optimize customer critical needs and promise performance task dates.
• Manage job completion and ensure customer needs are properly satisfied.
• Own the load list and ensure alignment of the mill to the transportation schedule.
• Provide necessary status updates for Supply Chain and Production management.
• Create shortage, trial and sample jobs as needed.
• Apply finished goods overage and salvage from production overage to reduce costs.
• Prioritize work and production in a changing environment to fulfil customer demand as well as the needs of the production department.
• Process change orders to job tickets.
• Support the Planning department in various other tasks to improve our overall performance.
• Provide accurate input to financial forecasts.
• learn production flows and apply reasoning and deduction to draw conclusions regarding delivery.
• Support weekly calls with customers for order status.

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
• Minimum of one year experience in manufacturing, supply chain or planning experience.
• Experience using databases such as Oracle, SAP, or other ERP systems.
• Strong capability of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
• Strong written and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within peer and matrixed relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize work in an constantly changing environment.
• This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. *730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Qualified candidate must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the relevant government agency. Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or Business, Manufacturing Supply Chain or other related field. from an accredited college/university OR the equivalent work experience.
• Understanding and use of Oracle and Discoverer.
• Knowledge of customers, effective cost control, and utilization.
